Composite Fillings

Tooth-coloured fillings blend in seamlessly with your smile

Dental fillings are the most common procedure in dental practice. They repair and restore the tooth and help prevent infection or painful decay that would require more serious dental work.

Composite fillings match your tooth and look natural. Unlike out-dated amalgam (metal fillings), tooth-coloured fillings are capable of repairing much smaller spaces (much less drilling!) and last for much longer.

The bonding and white fillings process

Composite fillings and bonding are safe, affordable, look great and can be completed in just one appointment.

Here’s how it’s done:

Gentle Freezing

Before we begin, we will take the time to carefully numb your gums so we can gently freeze the area. People often feel anxious about this step. Freezing will numb your teeth and teeth nerves, as well as your gums and surrounding skin to avoid feeling unnecessary pain during the procedure.

Filling the tooth

Once you’re comfortable, your tooth is carefully cleaned and prepped. An adhesive gel is placed on the affected tooth over which a composite resin will be moulded and sculpted to restore the function and beauty of your smile.

Curing the Composite

The composite resin material used to fill or bond your tooth is quickly cured and hardened with a special LED light. The doctor will carefully examine your finished tooth and make any required finishing touches before polishing it up for a fresh new smile.
